Why will eating Decadent Chocolate Cake ensure that you have the BEST Long Weekend EVER? Well unfortunately it’s not because of its nutritional virtue. True, chocolate comes from Cacao which is a Superfood and has tremendous health benefits. Raw cacao is made by cold-pressing unroasted cocoa beans. The process keeps the living enzymes in the cocoa and removes the fat (cacao butter).
Cocoa mass (used to make chocolate) is raw cacao that’s been roasted at high temperatures. Sadly, roasting changes the molecular structure of the cocoa bean, reducing the enzyme content and lowering the overall nutritional value. (collective awwwwwwe :-( )

Let me explain what I mean by that. One of my mentors, John Maxwell, says people underestimate what they can do in a day, but overestimate what they can do in several days. With the Long Weekend fast approaching many people make plans for doing long overdue jobs around the house but how often do you ever stop and think about making time for the things that really matter in your life?
What’s that got to do with Chocolate Cake? Well it’s a Marker. A Marker is simply something that stands out, like highlighting a passage in a book, so that you can go back and reference it later.
We have a June Long Weekend now and we’ll get another June Long Weekend next year too, and the year after that as well. But you’ll always remember that one time, and you may not even remember it was 2015, but trust me when you’re 90 you’ll still remember that one time when you did something that you wouldn’t normally do like devouring a Decadent Chocolate Cake just to act as a Marker, to draw a line in the sand and say that on this Long Weekend I’m going to do something that will positively impact the rest of my life!
So what is that 1 thing that you can do? Well that’s when Markers come in so handy. This weekend is going to be your “Line in the Sand” when you take a stand and do something for YOU. Next year in June, we’re going to have a another June Long Weekend and that will prompt you to remember last year when you ate that Chocolate Cake! This time next year, what do you want to be able to say that you have achieved over the past year which has really made a huge difference to your life?
Make this the weekend that you set aside the time to really think about what is important for you and your life and where you want to be heading. Ask yourself what changes you would like to bring about over the next 12 months.
Now ask yourself this question, on the eve of the June Long Weekend 2016, what would have to have happened over the past 12 months for you to feel that you’ve really achieved that?
