What Are You Capable of Learning (Part 2)

Welcome Back !

So, in the last Blog we looked at how we so often don’t give ourselves the importance that we deserve, we discussed the reasons for that and we looked at the possibilities of what we could accomplish if we did do that.

But let me tell you something, you’ll never get around to prioritising yourself if you don’t first believe that you are worthy of that. And that’s not your fault, we’re brought up in a world where we’re taught that it’s bad to prioritise yourself, that it’s somehow selfish to do that.

Well I’m here to tell you that, not only is it OK to prioritise yourself, but it’s essential.

You may ask, what makes me worthy of investing in myself, what have I done to deserve this? If I don’t spend this money on me, maybe we could afford that new stove or if I don’t spend this time on myself, I’d be more available to my family or or or….. fill in the blank!

And this is the problem. Being worthy requires nothing of you. You don’t HAVE TO do anything to be worthy. Being worthy is your birthright.

At a base level, all selfishness and intolerance can trace their source to the fact that people are not living their higher selves, they’re not feeling empowered, they’re not feeling abundant. A failure to put yourself first, to prioritise yourself, leads to feelings of insecurity which leads the feeling of lack, which in turn leads people to do things that are selfish because this learned concept of inadequacy (we learn this from society) tells us that we are not good enough to do things on our own so therefore we must take from someone else in order to get what we want. Our learned concept of inadequacy drives the fear or lack, of missing out, of scarcity, which in turn leads to intolerance. We strive so much to be selfless in our acts that we become selfish in our hearts.

"We strive so much to be selfless in our acts that we become selfish in our hearts".

~Neill Andrew

But instead, if we were to truly live to our highest selves, to really live on a daily basis with the mindset of abundance that is our birthright, if we really believed that untold abundance is there just waiting for our command at any time, then there would be no reason for us to ever be selfish or intolerant because we would live with abundance in our hearts. And what lives in your heart, so too, must your actions surely follow.

It reminds me of the words of Marianne Williamson,

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually,

Who are we not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.

There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone.

And as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fears, our presence automatically liberates others.

~Marianne Williamson: A Return to Love.

Imagine a world where EVERYONE treated themselves with the love and respect that they deserve, who gave themselves the importance that they deserved, who lived with abundance in their hearts. This would be a world unimaginable, a world free of violence, selfishness and intolerance. A world that others would describe as “Utopian”, why? Because they cannot imagine that such a world could ever exist. Because they think it too complex, that governments could never do that, that countries could never do that. Because they fail to understand that the achievement of such a world relies not on governments or any external agency, but on each individual. Such a world requires nothing more than for each person to arrive at a point of realisation of going inward to give themselves the importance that they deserve, to live with abundance in their hearts.

Now take a step back. What about you? What could YOUR life look like if you treated yourself with the love and respect that you deserve? If you gave yourself the importance that you really deserve and lived with abundance in your heart, what could you accomplish?

So ask yourself, what is something that you could do, or could learn about, that could have an incredible impact on your life if only you took the time to learn, but you just keep on putting it off because you say that you don’t have time or money?

Now, more importantly, imagine what your life could be like if you DID do that? Are you worthy of that kind of life?

If you hired a Personal Trainer for example, sure you could loose weight over the next six months. Some people may loose the weight and think they don’t need a Personal Trainer any more. But what if you kept going with this. Imagine YOU five years from now, a person who has used a Personal Trainer for the past 5 years. What is your body like? What is your health like? Could it be, that by using a Personal Trainer for the past 5 years, you’re now in a physical state that you have potentially added an extra 5 years on to your life expectancy, that you now potentially have an extra 1,825 days to spend on this planet, enjoying the company of those you love and care about. What amazing experiences could you pack into those days? What could you see that you otherwise may not have seen? What example could you set for others?

Now, that’s just one example, you use whatever works for you. But have to VISUALISE yourself there, to really get that feeling deep down inside your gizzards of just what it would be like. THEN, once you know what it’s like you can ask yourself the question, am I worthy of this?

If the answer is no, then go back and read these 2 Blogs from the beginning!

If the answer is yes, then what are you waiting for start do those things that you truly deserve because YOU are worthy!
